Is Congress going to change the Estate Tax rules?

Currently the Estate Tax exclusion amount is $2,000,000. It is schedule to increase to $3,500,000 in 2009. In 2010 the Estate Tax is repealed; and in 2011 it is reinstated with only a $1,000,000 exclusion amount. Current feeling is that Congress will not let the schedule repeal or the introduction of the $1,000,000 exclusion amount remain. In fact there have been several proposals to make the exclusion amount $5,000,000 and to eliminate the repeal. But, right now, all we can do is watch and wait.
